Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (CO2RR) has been generally regarded as green technologies that can convert renewable energy such sunlight and wind into fuels valuable chemicals. However, the large-scale implementation of CO2RR is severely hindered by lack high-performance electrocatalysts. Heterogeneous molecular catalysts metal-organic framework with well-defined structure high tunability metal centers ligands show great promise for in terms both fundamental understanding practical application. Here, structural interfacial engineering these ensembles summarized. This review starts from electrochemistry its evaluation criteria, then moves to heterogeneous emphasis on ligands, their interaction supports, well situ reconstruction ensembles.
